Our skins go through the natural process of shedding skin cells, or desquamation. This process occurs in a constant, regenerative cycle. Our body’s process of removing dead skin cells is not 100% perfect and therefore we use body scrubs to help us. Body Scrubs are a body care product used to exfoliate the skin. There are many different types of body scrubs-some remove dead skin and surface debris, while others clean the skin while they exfoliate. The exfoliants that are contained in the scrub determines its effectiveness. For a body scrub, the mild exfoliation will prevent the skin from being stripped of natural moisture barrier. This can lead the skin to prevent from being vulnerable to dryness and irritation. The mild or gentle scrub will lightly exfoliate the body.
Exfoliating has the primary function to remove dead, dry surface skin cells and promotes a smoother even texture. Why do we need to get rid of these dead skin cells, you may ask? Well, if not, then the pores of our skin get blocked, which leads to acne, dry patches, flaky skin, and even early signs of aging! By using body scrub, it allows the skin to absorb moisturizer better. The physical exfoliant scrubs work to instantly slough dead skin cells, and you will immediately notice softer and more radiant skin. Body scrubs can help unclog pores, to improve skin discoloration and clarity. They also help free ingrown hairs, and minimize the appearance of razor bumps. Do not exfoliate irritated, broken, or burned skin, and make sure you follow the instructions.
How often should we use a body scrub? We should not use it every day or even every 2 days. Otherwise, this could lead to dry, irritated skin. In general, you don’t want to use body scrub more than twice a week. It’s good to use it while still in the shower, right after washing, so that your skin is clean and ready for exfoliation. Did you know that there are quite a few different types of body scrub? For instance, there is Sugar body scrub, coffee body scrub, lavender body scrub, and charcoal body scrub, to name a few. Lizush Body Scrub is a combination of soothing and moisturizing oils, shea butter, sea salt and lavender buds…this blend of natural ingredients has a comforting scent while exfoliating and hydrating.
The best way to use Lizush Body Scrub is to first wash your skin with natural soap. After washing off, then apply this 100% natural exfoliant product sufficiently over your entire body of wet skin; make sure you massage the scrub in circular motion to allow the granules to remove and exfoliate dead skin cells, while the oils and cream gently moisturize. Finally rinse off well and pat dry, for replenished skin that glows! My favorite is the lavender body scrub, but…SHHHHHH...don’t tell anyone!
